Affectionately known as CoHo, Colleen Hoover has taken the online book world by storm with tremendous success. Whether you’ve already read one of her books and need to know what’s next, or if you’re only just discovering the author, here are all of the Colleen Hoover books in order.
However, before you start reading any of her novels, you’ll want to make sure that you have your tissues at the ready. That’s because Hoover is known for her beautiful, evocative writing surrounding love and heartbreak.
Her books have become incredibly popular largely through word-of-mouth. It Ends with Us in particular has seen great success thanks to the like of online communities like BookTok or Bookstagram. Before we dive into the books though, let’s learn a little bit more about the author.
Who is Colleen Hoover?
Colleen Hoover is a #1 New York Times bestselling author that has had a surprising path to becoming an author. Hoover wrote her first novel at 31 and self-published it almost by chance, all because she wanted her mother to read the story on her e-reader. It became a bestseller by word-of-mouth.
That novel was Slammed, which she published in 2012. Hoover self-published the sequel to Slammed as well, before the third and final installment of that series was picked up by Atria, an imprint of Simon & Schuster. Since her debut, Hoover has continued to both self-publish and traditionally publish her novels.

Her books fall within the young adult and new adult contemporary romance genres, while also edging into the psychological thriller genre. Hoover’s writing is largely about family, friendship, change, and love depicted in a heart-wrenchingly beautiful and realistic manner.
Hoover has won three successive Goodreads Choice Awards for Best Romance. Confess won in 2015, It Ends with Us in 2016, and Without Merit in 2017.
In addition to writing, Hoover has also founded The Bookworm Box in 2015. It is a charity subscription service and bookstore. The Bookworm Box delivers signed novels in the mail to subscribers, with all profits being donated to various charities.
There is also a physical bookstore located in Sulphur Springs, Texas. All of the books are signed and donated by the authors. The Bookworm Box has raised more than one million dollars in charity donations since its inception.
Hoover currently lives in Texas with her husband and their three sons.

Are There Any Colleen Hoover Adaptations?
Yes! One of Colleen Hoover’s novels has been adapted into a TV series and a movie adaptation of another book is underway.
The TV show is Confess, based on Hoover’s novel of the same name, which premiered in 2017. If you have an eagle eye you might even spot Hoover’s cameo in the first episode. As the show adapts itself from the book, there has only been one season with seven episodes and no continuation of the series has been announced.
It stars Katie Leclerc as Auburn Reed and Ryan Cooper as Owen Gentry. Confess was directed by Elissa Down and is available to stream on Amazon Prime and iTunes.
As well, It Ends with Us is being adapted into a movie by Justin Baldoni, although information around the adaptation is slim. Baldoni initially planned on directing the movie as well, but has since decided a female director would be a better fit for the themes of domestic abuse and the female perspective of the story.
Baldoni announced in October 2021 that the first draft of the screenplay was complete. However, no further information has been released yet.

So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.
Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt.
Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.
As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan — her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

Until she discovers that he’s completely unavailable. Merit retreats deeper into herself, watching her family from the sidelines when she learns a secret that no trophy in the world can fix.

But as Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife’s words.
