The Natasha Preston books in order include connected contemporary romances, standalone young adult thrillers, and a few shorter works. Preston publishes her thrillers as Natasha Preston and her contemporary romances as Tasha Preston.
Her connected series are best read in publication order. Most of the thrillers and romance standalones can be read independently, so you can choose those by genre or premise without worrying about missing an earlier book.

Natasha Preston Books by Series
Preston’s connected romance books should be read in the order they were published. Later books follow different couples, but recurring characters and earlier relationship developments can reveal how previous stories ended.
Silence Books
The Silence series begins with Oakley Farrell and Cole Benson. Oakley hasn’t spoken since childhood, and Cole is one of the few people who understands her without needing words.
The third book shifts the focus to Jasper, a character from the first two novels, while Silent Night returns to Oakley and Cole for a holiday companion story. Read all four in order to avoid spoilers.
- Silence (2012)
- Broken Silence (2013)
- Players, Bumps and Cocktail Sausages (2014)
- Silent Night (2014) (Holiday short story)
Second Chance Books
The Second Chance books follow two connected couples. Our Chance brings back characters and relationships introduced in the first novel, so I’d read the duology in publication order.
- Second Chance (2014)
- Our Chance (2015)
The One Books
The One books are contemporary romances about different couples in the same social circle. The stories can stand on their own, but reading them in order makes the recurring characters and relationship updates easier to follow.
- Waking Up in Vegas (2019)
- Just Like the Movies (2020)
- Read My Mind (2020)
Natasha Preston Standalone Books
Most of Preston’s young adult thrillers and several of her contemporary romances are standalone stories. You can read them in any order, although the lists below follow publication order within each genre.
Young Adult Thriller Standalones
The Cellar and You Will Be Mine are separate thrillers with different characters and plots. Retailers sometimes group them together, but You Will Be Mine is not a sequel to The Cellar.
- Covert (2013)
- The Cellar (2014)
- Awake (2015)
- The Cabin (2016)
- You Will Be Mine (2018)
- The Lost (2019)
- The Twin (2020)
- The Lake (2021)
- The Fear (2022)
- The Island (2023)
- The Haunting (2023)
- The Dare (2024)
- The Party (2024)
- The Obsession (2025)
- The Lodge (2026)
The Cellar Companion Story
Preston also wrote a short online sequel to The Cellar titled His, also known as You’ll Always Be Mine. It follows Clover after his escape and brings Summer and Becca back into the story.
Preston shared the story online before The Cellar received its commercial U.S. publication. It should still be read after The Cellar. The companion has not received a standard U.S. retail edition and does not have a separate Amazon product page.
- His (also known as You’ll Always Be Mine) (2012)
Contemporary Romance Standalones
Preston’s contemporary romances are published under the name Tasha Preston. These novels are separate stories and can be read in any order.
- Save Me (2014)
- With the Band (2016)
- Reliving Fate (2017)
- Lie to Me (2018)
- After the End (2018)
- Villain (2023)
Natasha Preston Short Stories and Anthologies
Preston contributed “The New Boy Next Door” to the young adult romance anthology Together, Apart. She also wrote Cutthroat, a dark-romance novella that first appeared in the Scouts anthology before receiving a separate release.
- “The New Boy Next Door” in Together, Apart (2020)
- Cutthroat (2022) (Novella)

I really admire Natasha Preston’s writing speed of 2-3 novels in a year.
This guide to Natasha Preston’s books is super helpful; I was wondering about the best way to approach the Silence series after reading *Silence* itself. It’s good to know those should definitely be read in order to avoid spoilers, unlike the standalone thrillers.
