Is There an Alex Rider TV Show?

The popular series was adapted for the first time in 2006. Horowitz’s first book, Stormbreaker, was made into a movie of the same name starring Alex Pettyfer as Alex Rider. Horowitz’s wrote the screenplay himself.

While it was originally intended to be the start of a film franchise, its theatrical release failed to meet expectations and the plan was scraped.

However, that was not to be the end of Alex Rider appearing on screen.

Point Blanc, the second novel in the Alex Rider series, was adapted into a television series which premiered in 2020. It was produced by Eleventh Hour Films and Sony Pictures Television and aired in June 2020 on Amazon Prime.

The first season of Alex Rider follows the second book in the series: Point Blanc. It stars Otto Farrant as Alex Rider.

It was quickly renewed for a second season, which has already been released. The second season of Alex Rider follows Horowitz’s fourth book in the series: Eagle Strike.

Summary of the Alex Rider Books in Order

Stormbreaker is the first of the Alex Rider books in order. This book is about 14-year-old Alex Rider, who MI6 has just employed. He is tasked with taking out the criminal organization that killed his uncle and mentor. He does this by infiltrating an international school that has a connection to Scorpia, an international private intelligence agency.

In each of these books, Alex learns more about what it means to be involved with MI6 and their spy work while he learns how to use his talents for good instead of evil.
